Job Vacancy – Office Co-Ordinator

This is permanent part-time paid position. (Typically, 4 days a week)

The CSO Brisbane Office Coordinator runs all aspects of the office. They must be proficient in all aspects of running a small office that includes retail and legislative activities. Given the services the office provides, the role requires a thorough and practical understanding of Alcoholic Anonymous’ Steps, Traditions and Concepts. Supervision and training are key aspects of this role. The requirements of the role are as follows:

  1. Relevant skills, knowledge, experience, qualifications and/or training
  2. Experience with supervision and training of staff and volunteer’s
  3. Perform a range of planning functions which may require exercising knowledge of statutory and legal requirements. Knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements of an Incorporation registered as a not for profit body
  4. Financial recording and reporting in a retail environment
  5. Knowledge of organisational programs, policies and activities, and the proven ability to initiate and develop guidelines, work procedures, and processes, and ensured they are followed
  6. Payroll activities (subject to approval) and HR oversight.
  7. Provide specialist expertise or advice in relation to complex issues
  8. Develop, control and administer a records management service for the receipt, custody, control, preservation and retrieval of records and related material;
  9. Secretary for the CSO Steering Committee and Reps Meetings
  10. Provide reports to the Steering Committee and Reps Meetings regarding the functioning of the CSO. Distribute and file relevant agendas, minutes and reports
  11. Ability to perform all the job functions of the administration assistant position.

In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:

  • Knowledge of AA’s Steps, Traditions and Concepts
  • Relevant experience with MYOB software (or XERO or similar software)
  • Knowledge and experience of in-person and digital banking procedures
  • Intermediate understanding of bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of CSO Constitution and standing orders
  • Advanced skills using MS Office
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills

The following criteria are considered highly desirable:

  • Tertiary or vocational training in administration or related field
